Who is Surya

Welcome to Surya

Surya is the spiritual Name of Yvonne Oosterholt.

For the last few years she has given Satsang during retreits and in private sessions.

Surya on the direct experience: "My first experience was when I was about 25 years old. It was a period in my life in which I became detached from everything that had no relationship with the essence of life. Nothing that captured the interest of others, was interesting to me anymore.

A lady who was a friend of mine proudly talked to me about her house that was just being done up. She invited me to come and visit her and see for myself. I feigned an apology as I really did not feel any interest at all.

Movies, holidays, you name it, I could no longer enjoy them and could think of only one thing viz being aware of what was there right then. Well, what was there right then?

It was great... It could not be shared. It could just touch my heart . It was the only thing that could touch me.....

Later I tried to adapt to the world again because I thought I had lost touch with reality and would isolate myself completely. I had a fear of loneliness.

About ten years later, when I was about 35, I had profound experience but now I had a strong feeling that I could do something that could touch people to their core. It was hardly possible to share the experience, but I tried to share it with my life partner.

[Plaatjes van Ton]

He understood but I was actuelly not that bothered.

What I felt was so great. It transcended all and all that had been important to me before, appeared to be peanuts now. The experience lasted for just a couple of minutes but it was so overwhelming.

It had changed my world completely.

I had a strong feeling that I was now ready to incorporate the experience into my daily life. When I happened to read about Satsang in India, I knew that the device of Satsang had been given to me in order to give. It vibrated deep inside me and the Knowledge that there was more to give, had finally received it's name. In Satsang I could share my sensitivity, my clarity and intuition.

What I really saw and experienced was so much greater.

This profound experience that transcended all, was no different from my earlier experience. It cannot be spoken of. I can only express it in the structure of Satsang.

Satsang is a meeting, the sharing of it cannot be taught. It is rooted so deeply in me. I see no other way than giving Satsang. I have not been initiated by a guru and I am not the follower of a tradition or teaching.

Awakening has happened through self inquiry. One day I experienced great serenity and in that silence my Indian name was given: Surya! The meaning of it is "sun".

So Satsang with Surya.

SATSANG IS A SANSKRIT WORD MEANING "COMING TOGETHER IN TRUTH."

Each Satsang is new and unique and people can take part any day. It starts with a guided meditation.

Next, everyone gets a chance to pose questions that have remained unanswered during the preceding silence. Satsang deals with everything that wants to rise to the surface for investigation. It is a direct way without techniques or procedures.

Satsang results in peace and a sincere, joyous life, leaving behind religions, philosophies and concepts.

It is a method of showing one the way to that part of oneself that cannot be seen otherwise.

If one thinks too much, one cannot see clearly.

Satsang takes one deeper and deeper towards recognition of Oneself and finally leads towards the termination of the idea of separation. What remains is Life, Here and Now, unconditioned by time and place.

Truth is the effortless conclusion of the search and of aimless suffering
